Ireland has spent more than two decades building one of the world’s leading digital infrastructure ecosystems. Global technology companies and data centre operators chose Ireland as a gateway to Europe, attracted by our strategic location, highly connected economy and world-class expertise.
Today, however, many of the engineers, designers, contractors and specialists who helped build that success are working on projects overseas as investment in the sector bypasses Ireland. We have developed the talent, expertise and supply chain. What we lack is a pipeline of projects that allows that capability to grow and thrive at home. The Nordics are aligning digital infrastructure, renewable energy and industrial policy. Governments, utilities and local authorities are planning together, creating investment certainty that aligns with their environmental objectives.
